Preparing for the Earth Walk (Don’t Wait to Register!)

Join us for the 5th Annual Louisville Earth Walk this Saturday, 9 am at the Hogan’s Fountain Shelter in Cherokee Park!

Bring the whole family, or form a team with your friends! We have many treats and activities that will make the day special. Get there early— the first 100 registered walkers will have a treat on us from North Lime Donuts and Heine Brothers Coffee.

We are excited to have a live in-person event this year (we hope to see you there!), OR we are also offering a Virtual option to safely be a part of this event in your own space! (You’ll have 24 hours to choose your own favorite paths and routes in your neighborhood, nearby parks, your treadmill, anywhere!)

To protect public health we will be staggering our start, encouraging distancing in lines and around tables and asking that everyone wear masks when interacting closely with those outside your group.

If you haven’t already, register now at THIS LINK.

Our celebration features a performance by the Mighty Shades of Ebony. You can also engage with the many nonprofits that will be tabling at this year’s event.

More fun and activities during this year’s event!

We encourage you to have some additional fun this year by bringing your halloween costume! Walkers are encouraged to create and wear Earth-centric costumes as they walk the Cherokee Loop with us. Enter to win prizes in 3 categories – Exceptional Use of Reclaimed Materials, Exceptional Team Costume and Special Mention.

The Louisville Earth Walk benefits its 12 nonprofit organizing partners: Project Warm, Passionist Earth and Spirit Center, Our Earth Now, Louisville Sustainability Council, Louisville Grows, Louisville Climate Action Network, Kentucky Interfaith Power and Light, Kentucky Conservation Committee, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, Greater Louisville Sierra Club, Food Literacy Project, and Cultivating Connections.
